Psalm 53

Psalm 54

Author: David

Verse 1 – Save me, O God, by Your name, and vindicate me by Your strength.

Verse 2 – Hear my prayer, O God, give ear to the words of my mouth.

Verse 3 – For strangers have risen up against me, and oppressors have sought after my life; they have not set God before them. Selah

Verse 4 – Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is with those who uphold my life.

Verse 5 – He will repay my enemies for their evil. Cut them off in Your truth.

Proverbs 26:27 – Whoever digs a pit will fall into it, and he who rolls a stone will have it roll back on him.

In other words: Be very careful when you devise a plan to get someone back. The plan may just turn on you and bite you.

God says vengeance is mine. Romans 12:19: Behold, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. This is in the same category as “you reap what you sow.” If you sow hatred and deceit, always manipulating others, that’s what you will reap to your own life.

Verse 6 – I will freely sacrifice to You; I will praise Your name, O Lord, for it is good.

Verse 7 – For He has delivered me out of all trouble; and my eyes have seen its desires upon my enemies.
