Are We Truly Seeing a Transformation?

The measure of faith

How many people can you think of, right now, that have heard and received the gospel, say they are a Christian, but we don’t ever see a change in their lifestyle. They were saved and maybe got stuck because of only hearing part of the gospel.

The error probably started because they only heard half of the truth. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved. Or did they hear continuous sermons of how bad they were and everything they did was sending them to hell? What did they hear? Was it Jesus the man or did they hear about our God who became flesh, man, that was raised from the dead? Did they hear about the Lord Jesus Christ who is alive today that comes and lives on the inside of each believer and lives through us? Did they hear about the One who has the power to change and transform their lives?

When we communicate with someone about the gospel of Jesus, what is that person hearing? We have to be able to help them understand their spirit becomes a new Spirit because it is now God’s Spirit.

Most people know that Christ died for the forgiveness of their sins, but they don’t understand how Christ’s resurrection applies to their everyday lives.

Christ was resurrected “to life” and so are we when He comes and lives on the inside of us. We were dead in our trespasses before Christ. In other words our spirit within us had no life until Christ moves in with His Spirit.

Jesus says in John 10:10 – “The thief does not come except to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

John 5:24 – “Most assuredly, I say to you he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.”

You see, the problem is most people don’t know they are dead before coming to Christ, but that’s exactly what the Bible says in Ephesians 2:1 – “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins.”

From God’s point of view we not only were in need of total forgiveness, yet we couldn’t be good enough to earn it, we were dead in need of “Life!” We don’t need anyone shouting at us telling us about what we do wrong, the lost need to be told that they can have “all things made new through being resurrected to life in Jesus Christ!

So if you see someone who has been stuck in their Christian life with no true transformation, try to find out if they’ve heard the complete gospel of Christ.

Acts 1:8 – “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you”;…

Power for what? We will have the power to walk in the newness of life; to be a witness of the Lord Jesus Christ; to lay hands on the sick and see them recover; to speak boldly and proclaim the gospel of Christ.

So if you know someone who has not truly had a transformation, don’t beat them up using scripture. They need you to help them to have a clear understanding that ; when they excepted Christ, He came to live on the inside of them and brought them from a “”Dead life,” to a “New life” with the Spirit willing and able to lead and guide them into all truth.
