Possible written for one of the harvest festivals.
Verse 1 – God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us. Selah
Verse 2 – That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all the nations.
When God’s face shines on a nation or an individual, that’s God’s favor. I know God’s word says He is no respecter of persons, but He did show Israel and certain individuals favor throughout history. David’s desire was for God to bless the people so others would know there is only One God who cares for them. Our lives should be like a beacon in the dark to lead others to our Savior, Jesus Christ.
verse 3 – Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You.
Verse 4 – Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For You shall judge the people righteously and govern the nations on earth. Selah
Verse 5 – Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You.
Verse 6 – Then the earth shall yield, her increase; God, our own God shall bless us.
Verse 7 – God shall bless us, and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.
Are you in need? Then praise the Lord like you’ve never praised Him before. Praises go up, blessings will come down.
