Psalm 93

Psalm 93

Author: Anonymous

Verse 1 – The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty; the Lord is clothed, He has girded Himself with strength. Surely the world is established from of old; You are from everlasting.

Verse 2 – Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting.

Yahweh’s Kingdom is timeless. Scripture sometimes refers to God as the “Ancient of days”, which is one of the reasons He also is the great”I am!” He always was, always will be, forever more.

Verse 3 – The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.

Verse 4 – The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, than the mighty waves of the sea.

One of the reasons I like to read and meditate on the Book of Psalms is because when using God’s creation to describe how mighty He is, it reassures us the enormity of our God. Even when the psalmist describes His voice, and we know how loud waves are when they come to shore, it gives the assurance of knowing how mighty He is. Should we not know then from these descriptions that He is awesome enough to deliver us out of “anything?”

Verse 5 – Your testimonies are very sure; holiness adorns Your house, O Lord forever.

God’s testimonies are as established as His throne, from everlasting throughout all eternity.
