Author: Possibly David
Verse 1 – O, sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the earth.
Verse 2 – Sing to the Lord, bless His name; proclaim the good news of His salvation from day-to-day.
Verse 3 – Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among the people.
Did you catch what the psalmist said in verse 2? Proclaim the good news. I always wonder about Christians that never tell others the good things God has done in their lives. We should be grateful enough about Christ saving us, to tell others, so they will see how good of a God He is. What is inside of a Christian should flow out to others.
Verse 4 – For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods.
Verse 5 – For all the gods of the people are idols, but the Lord made the heavens.
Verse 6 – Honor and majesty are before Him; strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.
People can make anything their god, but they are idols, worthless and powerless.
Verse 7 – Give to the Lord, O kindred’s of the peoples, give to the Lord glory and strength.
Verse 8 – Give to the Lord the glory due His name; bring an offering and come into His courts.
Verse 9 – Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth.
Have you ever trembled in the presence of the Lord? You can’t hardly stand when His presence is so strong. I find this happening when I’m proclaiming His Words and what He says through me. The trembling is so strong that I shake from head to toe. I’m in awe of Him!
Verse 10 – Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns;” the world also is firmly established, it shall not be moved; He shall judge the peoples righteously.
Our Lord reigns because He is King and creator.
Verse 11 – Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and all its fullness;
Verse 12 – Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice before the Lord.
Verse 13 – For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with His truth.
Even the psalmist knew the Lord, Jesus, is coming back, because He didn’t come the first time to judge the earth, He came to save it! But when He comes again it will be different.
