Psalm 117

Psalm 117

Author: Anonymous

This is the shortest psalm of all the psalms, but with a big message! Paul quotes from this psalm in Romans 15:11, to show that God’s salvation is for all people, not just the Jews.

Verse 1 – Oh, praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Laud (applaud) Him, all you peoples!

Not only are the Israelites called to remember all the wonderful saving works of the Lord; this goes to all nations – Gentiles.

Verse 2 – For His merciful kindness is great towards us, and the truth of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord!

Our God is faithful and loyal towards us. People will come and go in our lives, letting us down when we need them the most, but not our heavenly Father. He’s always there; always loving; always kind; and is always full of mercy towards us. Why would we not praise the giver of life?
