Psalm 127

Psalm 127

Life Without God is Senseless

Verse 1 – Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.

Every foundation has to begin with God or it will not last. Our relationship with God should be at the center from both parties because they will last and have much more stability than those that don’t.

Verse 2 – It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late to eat bread of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep.

It is futile to labor at anything if we are not following Gods ways. Hebrews 4:11 says, Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience. When we become secure in knowing God loves us, He will provide for us and will work it all out. He will give us peaceful sleep.

Verse 3 – Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is His reward.

Verse 4 – Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of ones youth.

Verse 5 – Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; they shall not be ashamed, but shall speak with their enemies in the gate.

God places a high value on children. He says, “They are from Him.” They are to be protected with utmost care, at all times.
