This is the last Psalm. It’s all about praise. When we praise God, we acknowledge His awesomeness. I think praise involves a little more than just being thankful for what He’s done. We praise Him for who He is!
Verse 1 – Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty firmament!
Verse 2 – Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!
Verse 3 – Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; Praise Him with the lute and the harp!
Verse 4 – Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!
Verse 5 – Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with lashing cymbals!
Verse 6 – Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!
When we bow in humble adoration before our Savior, some people will see it as a sign of weakness and think we are foolish. But in truth there is only one kind of fool, “The one who says in his heart there is no God.” When we praise the living Savior, others that are lost can see us as a witness for Him.
When Christ died at Calvary as God’s sacrifice for the world’s sins, Jesus said, “It is finished!” So, the ritual of sacrifice was over forever. Jesus paid it all. We only except. The only sacrifice we owe is of praise to our Savior, and when we praise Him we will be obedient to His Word!
