Do You Beg God For What You Already Have?

Most people pray asking God to give them what they have already been given, according to Scripture. Look at what Ephesians 1:3 says: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. Is Christ in you? Then this applies to you! God has already provided for everything we will ever need.

However, there’s a problem. It’s in another dimension. We need it here on earth.

The Bible says in Romans 12:3, we are all given “the” measure of faith. That means all are given the same measurement of faith. If your Bible says, “a”, instead of “the,” it has been changed from the original and it is wrong. There is a huge difference between “the measure of faith,” and “a measure of faith.” Each believer is given the same measure of faith to believe, and then its up to the individual what they do with their faith.

So now we need to use that faith (can be as small as a mustard seed), to get something to move from heavenly places into our hands.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). I have to get what’s in the invisible realm, to the place where I can see it.

We walk by faith, not by sight. So we know by faith that what we need is there, we just can’t see it, as of yet. We also know it’s true because God said it in His Word.

Where is the faith going to come from to believe all this. Romans 10:17 – So faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

What do we do after we hear the word? Now, what do we do after we have found the particular Scripture we need? 2 Corinthians 4:13 says, “But since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, ‘I believed and therefore I spoke,’ we also believe and therefore speak.”

We have the ability to read God’s word and speak it to ourselves. We embrace it in our hearts and continue to confess it “OUT LOUD!” We do this even though we don’t see it yet with our natural eyes.

Luke 10:19, Jesus said to His disciples (and if you are a believer, walking by the Spirit of God, you too have this same authority), “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means harm you.” That power and authority includes laying hands on the sick and they shall recover: Mark 16:17, 18 – “and these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; (Verse 18) “they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. (This does not mean intentionally drinking poison or picking up a deadly snake or putting yourself in harm’s way, tempting God.)

This simply means each and every Christian has the authority through Jesus Christ to call those things that be not as though they were (Romans 4:17).

As long as the world remains, there will be seed, time, and harvest. Everything God wants to do in a Christian’s life, is going to begin with a seed and that seed will produce after its own kind. (If you need healing, don’t go look up a financial word.)

How many Christians do you know that are waiting on a harvest and have never planted any seed? They haven’t read one word that pertains to their situation. They are begging God to change something and He’s already given us His Word. God will respond when we use our mouth to speak His Word in agreement with what is written! And yes, sometimes we have to wait; the Scripture says, seed, you plant and speak, time, a period of waiting, and harvest, and then you will see the result.

The power of life and death are in the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). Learn to say the same thing God says about you. Speak your end result that you desire to see, according to God’s Word. Therefore, we don’t speak what we see, we stand in agreement with what God says about your situation in His Word.

Keep in mind: Satan was defeated at the cross. More times than not, it is our lack of understanding of Scripture that frustrates us in our prayer life when we don’t see any results.

Go to God’s Word, get the desired seed for your particular challenge or situation, and continue to confess it “Out loud, because you believed it in your heart and watch it come to pass.

John 14:14 – “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”
