The Value Of Words

Life Or Death

According to the Bible, the words we speak have the power of life or death!

Proverbs 18:20 – A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth, and from the produce of his lips he shall be filled. (The quality of our life is dependent on the words we speak, to some degree.) (Verse 21) Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Have you ever really thought that this Scripture was that important? We will determine how our day goes, by what comes out of our mouth.

Everything God created, He created through His words. And we were created in His image. So there is something in our speaking that has a creative force of either life or death in our lives.

This truth from Scripture has been taken to the extreme. Almost every truth in the Bible, Satan tries to distort! As believers we are on a journey exploring “truth.” The truth is already there, it’s in the Word of God. We have been transferred from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light. As we read along in Scripture, we feel like we discover something and this happens with truth when we first see it.

Then when we go to share what we’ve learned, we might begin to exaggerate to really drive the point home. This happens with learning about healing and prosperity also. That’s how the “Name it and Claim it” movement came about. We don’t try to get God to be in agreement with our words, we need to get our words in agreement with God. That is what will make the difference in our quality of life.

What Proverbs 18:21 is saying is, “Do you agree with life, or do you agree with death?” By the words of our mouth, we are releasing life or death.

Words Connect Us To God

Words are how God comes from the spiritual realm where He lives, to the natural realm where we live. Some will say, “God sent Jesus and Jesus is the bridge.” But Jesus is the WORD. John 1:1 – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 – And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us,… Psalm 107:20 – He sent His word and healed them…

There was a Grand Canyon between us and God called sin, so God sent His Word. God sent His Word to reach us, then we walk across that word of confession of the Lord Jesus Christ to get saved. Romans 10:8 – “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach); (The Bible will connect the mouth and the heart.) (Verse 9) that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Verse 10) For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Verse 13) For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

When you believe in your heart and confess it with your mouth, you get saved. What we really believe in our heart, comes out of our mouth. Matthew 12:31 – “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. (Verse 32) “Anyone who speaks against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come. (Most people stop reading there.) (Verse 33) “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit.

The “tree” is the “heart” and the “fruit” is the mouth. (Verse 34) “Brood of vipers! How can you being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. (Verse 35) “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. (Verse 36) “But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. (Verse 37) “For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Jesus is moving in the power of the Holy Spirit, so the Holy Spirit was moving through Jesus while He was ministering on earth. These Pharisees that were there that day, began to attribute the work of the Holy Spirit to the devil. Jesus turns around and tells them that what they were saying would condemn them and send them to hell. He tells them the reason they are speaking the things they are speaking is, because their heart is evil. If your heart is evil, you will speak evil things.

This is why this can send someone to hell: According to Scripture the only person of the God Head that reveals our need for a Savior is the Holy Spirit! The Holy Spirit reveals our need for Christ. So here is what Jesus is saying: “If you continue to speak evil and harden your heart against the Holy Spirit, when the Holy Spirit comes to you and convicts you, and you harden your heart against Jesus, you are bound for hell! The unpardonable sin is a sin you commit with your “Mouth!”

So many ask if they’ve committed the unpardonable sin, but if you are still drawing air in your lungs, there is hope. Once a person dies, that hope is gone! But Satan tries to convince people that they have committed the unpardonable sin so that they won’t seek God anymore. As long as a person desires to seek God in their heart, there is still hope.

Words Connect Us To Each Other

Anytime we have ever had a “disconnect” with someone, words were involved. Here’s the problem: We don’t have creative power and that’s the error that’s been taught with this truth. Too many believers believe the “Name it and claim it,” and that’s not truth because we don’t create! But our words either agree with God’s plan for our lives or they agree with Satan’s plan. Every word we speak is either releasing life or releasing death.

We either allow God to bless us with our words or we allow Satan to come in with our own words and twist everything.

There are 7 divine words to healing every relationship” “I was wrong, do you forgive me?”
