2 Thessalonians 2:3 – Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, (Verse 4) who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
Before Jesus comes again, there will be a world-wide falling away from the truth. A blatant rejection of Judeo Christian morality, principles, and standards. Do we not see this happening now?
The falling away is happening right in the house of God and don’t let anyone tell you any different. We have homosexuals pretending to be pastors. Every day there has to be a fight for the life of the unborn. I have never in my life seen such hatred filling our streets for the right to take the life of the innocent unborn. And now, one particular state has voted into law to take the life of a newborn because the mother may not want him or her.
I remember starting school each day with a prayer in Jesus name and then the pledge of allegiance to our flag. God forbid if we respect our flag today. However, in 1962, prayer was banned in public school; in 1980, the open display of the 10 Commandments was taken down. Right now, students are kicked out of schools by officials if they bring a Bible or wish to pray with other students. This has been going on for years and we’ve all seen the results. Our Christian values are under attack, but if the church is weak and don’t pray, we lose.
On February 1st, 2014, a marine Corporal was court-martialed for displaying a passage of Scripture on her computer that said, “No weapon formed against me shall prosper.” She was ordered to remove it, she said that she would not and they court-martialed her. The Bible is considered hate speech by many. This is a hostile apostacy of Judeo Christian values.
In Matthew 24:3, the disciples asked Jesus, “When will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” Then Jesus gives several parables for His answer:
Matthew 25:1 – “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. (Verse 2) “Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. (Verse 3) “Those who were foolish took lamps and took no oil with them. (Verse 4) “But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. (Verse 5) “But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. (Verse 6) “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!”
(Verse 7) “Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. (Verse 8) “And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ (Verse 9) “But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’
(Verse 10) “And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding, and the door was shut. (Verse 11) “Afterward the other virgins came also saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ (Vere 12) “But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ (Verse 13) “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.” Jesus didn’t say that we wouldn’t know the season or the signs of the times, He said we won’t know the day or the hour.
In this story of the 10 virgins, the bridegroom is Jesus and the virgins are the church in the world. When Jesus comes back half the church is going to be ready and waiting and the other half won’t even know Him. The half that doesn’t know Him have never committed to Him and continue to live unto themselves. True believers know who the pretenders are so they are not fooling anyone, especially God.
Today, many churches are rejecting the clear teachings of the Bible. Many are “Pro-abortion,” and give to abortion providing groups. Many are “Pro-gay-marriage, which splits the church right down the middle! Many churches do not believe in a literal hell or a literal devil. Just ask yourself this question: If the Bible is lying about hell, is it telling us the truth about heaven? Do you know Jesus taught more about hell than He did heaven? The whole Bible is the Holy Word of God and is all truth!
Too many churches believe in “Universalism,” meaning Jesus is not the only way to heaven. Other religions and being a good person can get you there. Bologna!!
We are seeing it right now. It’s a great apostasy, and a great falling away from the clear teaching of Jesus, which is God’s Word. This kind of church is only pretending to know God.
2 Thessalonians 2:5 – Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? (Verse 6) And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. (Verse 7) For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. (Verse 8) And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.
Paul says that before that great Day of the Lord, there will be a great falling away of the church until the One is taken away – The Holy Spirit. The only restraining force in the world right now is supposed to be the “Church.” We are supposed to be restraining evil. Try to imagine a world without one believer in it. That day is coming.
Luke 17: “I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left. (Verse 35) “Two women will be grinding together, the one will be taken and the other left. (Verse 36) “Two men will be in the field; the one will be taken and the other left. (Verse 37) And they answered and said to Him, “Where, Lord?” So He said to them, “Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.”
1 Thessalonians 4:17 – Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
When the rapture occurs, we go up in the air to meet Jesus. He will come and take one and leave the other. Can you imagine? He knows who truly belong to Him and they will be just gone! This verse is the perfect description of the rapture of the church. I believe that the church will be raptured before the tribulation and here is why: When God destroyed the earth with water, was Noah and his family protected and taken out of it with the Ark? How about Lot, when God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah? Was Lot taken out of the city before it was destroyed by fire? Yes, yes, and yes!
As Christians, we need to be watchful and don’t be deceived by the lies of the devil telling people that God has lowered His principles and standards because they have. God has commandments and they haven’t changed, men’s hearts have grown cold and evil.
In Noah’s day, there was a violent rejection toward God. The Bible says in the day of Noah the world was full of violence and immorality. Does that describe today’s world? There was also a remnant living for God, Noah and his family. Are there people living for God today? Yes, there is.
Then there is a third parallel, the removal of the righteous remnant: “God has not appointed us to wrath.” The Tribulation that is coming is “Wrath,” and God has not appointed His children for that. Paul tells us to comfort each other with these words in 1 Thessalonians. There is no way you could comfort anyone by telling them that they would have to go through this Great Tribulation.
Remember what the angels told Lot? They said, “We can’t judge this place until you are out of here!” Jesus says when He returns, the world will be like in the days of Noah and in the days of Lot.
2 Thessalonians 2:9 – The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, (Verse 10) and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. (Verse 11) And for this reason, God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, (Verse 12) that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
People go day to day worrying and only caring about themselves. We see it all around us, but Jesus said: Luke 21:34 – “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. (Verse 35) “For it will come as a snare on all these who dwell on the face of the whole earth.
Remember Lot’s wife? She looked back at the city as it burned because she loved the world more than God. (Verse 36) “Watch, therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
Who wants to escape the Tribulation? I sure do. Jesus says we are to watch and pray. Don’t be like many who will look around one day and say, “What just happened?” The moral decay of this world is sickening. So many have grown cold and think that God will excuse their sin while they continue in their sin. Remember when you first got saved, and God forgave all your sin and you felt so good? I’ve watched over the years, Christians that started letting things slip back into their old lives all the while ignoring what God saved them from, thinking He accepts it now.
Many Christians start to drink alcohol after being saved because they have convinced themselves, “I can handle it.” They couldn’t handle it before so what makes them think they can after God delivered them from it? Then there are some that continue to live with the opposite sex outside of marriage because it’s accepted in society today.
Let me remind everyone that is reading this: The Bible says in several passages, “If they continue till the end!” Continuing to follow Christ! That little word “If,” is so vital to our making it out of this life into the next! Just because society accepts the murdering of babies in the womb, sex outside of marriage, drinking, and two men or two women marrying each other, doesn’t mean that God accepts sin because sin is still sin.
Do you love God and His word? Are you living as though Jesus could return today? Look at what Jesus said: Mark 8:38 – “For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.
We are absolutely living in a world that is attacking Jesus Christ, His Word, His people, and everything holy. Jesus is coming back soon and we all want to be with Him at His coming. But how many will be left behind because they wanted this world and the things in it more?
